There were plenty of diploid rebloomers in the seedling beds this summer but most of them were shown in last years blog posts...here's one that I'm very excited about that most folks haven't seen...
D11-01
D11-01
(RED SPIRE x HUBEN REBLOOMING SEEDLING)
X
(INDIAN GIVER x PINK STRIPES)
It has been difficult coming up with the next introduction out of PINK STRIPES and I wouldn't have predicted this one to be it as it's only a 3.5 inch bloom. However, the striping, stippling and strongly contrasted color makes it a worthy offspring to carry on the PINK STRIPES genetics. Throw in the tremendous rebloom coming out of the Mike Huben genetic lines and the package is complete. This will be a 2012 introduction
4-5 way branching on a 36" tall scape...
This early July photo shows an overgrown clump of D11-01, with wave after wave of scapes coming on...I have no idea how many 'sets' of scapes the plant produces...it simply never stops blooming here from late June until the first killing frost in mid October.
